Australian Podcast Awards announces new partners and judging lineup

this Australian Podcast Awards (APAs) Announce Acast, the country’s largest podcast player, will serve as its headline partner to support this year’s awards ceremony.

Joining Acast is the LiSTNR app of Southern Cross Ostrow, who joined as a gold partner and sponsor of the public voting category-Audience Choice Award.

Acast and LiSTNR have joined the list of podcast heavyweights supporting the 2021 APA, including Spotify, iHeartPodcast Network Australia, Nova Entertainment Podcast Network, Podfollow and Podnews.

APA also announced its 2021 jury, which includes a list of celebrities, industry veterans and enthusiasts, who will jointly determine the best podcasts in Australia in 2021.

News Corporation’s national entertainment editor Johnathan Moran has joined a series of media and entertainment heavyweights, including entertainment producer Cosima Toni, editor and podcast creator Melissa Mason, the entertainment director of the project, Kristy-Lee Lorraway, Pedestrian Group’s senior entertainment editor Matt Gallia and pop culture writer Patrick Renton.

The APA independent jury also brought together talents from leading podcast production companies in the country, including: ABC Radio, Acast, ARN / iHeartRadio, Mushroom Group, Nova Entertainment, Piccolo Podcasts, SBS, SCA, SoundCartel and Spotify.
