Promote your podcast on LinkedIn to build authority

LinkedIn This may not be your first choice when you consider pushing broadcasters and attracting listeners, but if done well, you will see an increase in listening, downloading, and overall user interaction through this widely overlooked platform.

I believe you are curious; how to upload podcasts to LinkedIn? I am glad you asked. LinkedIn added a feature in 2014 and now allows all its users to post blog-style content directly to their LinkedIn profiles. To learn more about LinkedIn Pulse, please visit LinkedIn Help. For the purpose of this article, we will assume that you already know the basics of LinkedIn Pulse.

Let us navigate to your speaker episode list:

Next select the file you want to edit and look at the far right side of the screen, where you will see the “Auto Share” link. This link allows you to share your episodes to YouTube or Soundcloud.

Next click on the red “Publish” button:

This will publish your episode to YouTube. When it finishes processing and is ready to be on YouTube, it looks like this:

From here, LinkedIn fun will happen, which will lead to more people listening to your podcast. Navigate to your LinkedIn profile and look for the “Post Post” button.

Once your post is opened, this part is just like any other blogging platform. Choose an eye-catching image for the title image. Then start writing your program notes or detailed information about when readers might be interested in the content. I always add at least a few small paragraphs here. Next, add your podcast via the YouTube upload you made earlier.

Just get the embed iframe code that can be found under “Shared Embed”. Just copy the code and return to LinkedIn and your blog post.

Click the small play button in the editor, and you will see the following text in the pop-up window:

Paste the code you copied from YouTube and click “Add Media”.

After this is done, your YouTube video (that is, the podcast that has been converted and uploaded to YouTube) is now embedded in your posts on LinkedIn. This is very exciting, because based on the number of people you follow you, this message will be sent directly to them:

There can be more people following you than your contacts on LinkedIn, so don’t let my number scare you. Once you start publishing articles regularly, your followers will increase.
